How do I apply to the Gynaecologic Oncology Fellowship
Training Program at the University of Toronto?
Though not strictly required for entry to our Fellowship Training Program,
qualification as a specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology equivalent to
the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada is required to facilitate ultimate
practice as a Gynaecologic Oncologist in Canada.
Admission to our Program is competitive. Fellows are selected mainly
based on their academic merits as determined by appropriate letters of reference,
relevant academic output (publications, posters, presentations), and prior
medical qualifications. Prior
positive elective experience within our Division is often highly regarded when
selecting fellows to enter our Program.
In general, two fellows per year are selected for entry into the Program, subject
to the availability of adequate funding to faciliate successful completion
of the three-year Program.

Our program is committed to ensuring that funding is guaranteed for all accepted
fellows, who will be remunerated above the level of a senior OB/GYN resident
in Ontario.
A number of funding sources exist to support fellowship training within our
Program. Some of these sources rely on application(s) by the prospective
fellow, which ideally should be completed and confirmed prior to commencing
the Fellowship Training Program.
All prospective fellows are strongly encouraged to investigate potential
funding sources through their planned practice location, if applicable.
This is especially important for international fellows, who may be eligible
for fewer Canadian funding sources.

considered, applications must be fully completed and received by our program
no later than April 30th, 2012. Applicants are responsible for
ensuring the completeness and accuracy of their application.
